Ima Streakin Doc is a 2002 bay tobiano Paint stallion. He stands about 14.2 hands and weighs around 900-1000 pounds. He is a rich mahogany colored bay with coppery highlights combined with silvery white tobiano pattern white markings. His mane hangs to his shoulder and his two toned tail is almost ground length. He has a darker almost black/brown dorsal stripe that is apparently counter-shading as he is not a dun. In the winter he's almost a black bay. More on this on the "Colors" page.
So far, Streaker has sired only bay foals with all but one also being tobiano patterned. He is being tested for the black gene so we will know if he is able to sire foals that are red colored. We know he has one gene for the tobiano pattern and one for solid so he can sire solid colored foals...even out of Paint patterned mares. We also know that he has one agouti gene...the one that makes a black horse into a bay. Since he has only one of these he could sire black horses without this gene...and if the mare cooperates you could get black and white Paints sired by him.
"Streaker" is a rarity, a Paint stallion who is also a grandson of the great QH cutting sire, Doc Bar. Streaker's sire was a QH named Docs Gabilan, a son of the legendary Doc Bar. Gabilan was a top 10 finalist at the prestigous Snaffle Bit Futurity back when the NRCHA was still the California Reined Cowhorse Association. He was never promoted a lot and still managed to sire foals with money earnings in cutting, reining, working cowhorse and also a world champion trail horse. He was also the maternal grandsire of APHA world champion reining mare Dox Gabilan Rain (sired by the great Sugar Rain). Streaker will put Doc Bar's name on the three generation pedigrees of his sons and daughters... something you don't see in many Paints.
Streaker's dam is a black tobiano mare named Fridays Frolic. Her mother was a mare named Kings Lightning, who was a 7/8 sister to the reserve world champion reining stallion QT Poco Streke. QT is also the Congress reining champion, an open and limited open winner with the NRHA and twice an NRHA Bronze award winner and has sired a number of point and money earners in reining as well as some in working cowhorse.
Streaker has been a well mannered youngster from the beginning. I found him by way of a radio classifieds ad show and bought him immediately. He was untrained at that point and didn't even know how to lead. He learned very quickly though and in about 20 minutes was not only leading but loaded into the trailer. Since then he has shown himself to be very smart and very quick. Those of his foals that are old enough to work with are impressing their owners with the ease with which they seem to learn things.

In addition to being well bred and well mannered, Streaker is also just plain "cute". And he passes that on to his foals.
