Double Down Delta

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/double+down+delta

This 2009 stallion is possibly the most exciting youngster we've ever bought.  He has an incredible pedigree (click on above link), is homozygous for tobiano and should make some truly competitive foals from the mares in the mare herd.

Just a little bit of info on him....

He's homozygous for tobiano, meaning he will sire tobiano foals 100% of the time....even on solid mares whether they are QH, TB or Arab.

He's an interesting color...mostly liver chestnut spots but some spots are more "normal" chestnut.  Curious to see which color he passes along to chestnut foals.

Here are family photos....

with his dam,  Dots Nu Delta.....quite a good looking mare!

His sire, at the APHA world show earning his Reserve World Championship.

His dam's sire at liberty in a pasture...good looking fellow!  And below are a few more of him including a shot of the front cover of the Brazilian Paint Horse Journal after he was exported to Brazil and was competing there.

And below is a photo of his sire's sire...who is also his maternal great grandsire....one of the great stallions produced by the Moore Ranch/6 J's Paints program.  This is the great stallion Delta O'Lena, with his owners....

Another family member is Gay Bar O'Lena, a full brother to his dam's sire, Dots Nu King......and a two time world champion reining horse.

You just don't get a much better pedigree in a Paint horse than this....but we're gonna try...by breeding him to the well bred mares in the mare band and bringing in more of those fantastic QH bloodlines to Paint performance bred foals.

The plan with "Three D" (barn name) is to send him to a trainer, have him shown in probably reined cowhorse but also learn to team rope and then we'll see what else.  The entire family he comes from are highly versatile horses and we expect no less from him.  We plan to offer a very limited number of lifetime breedings to this extraordinary youngster and to limit the number of foals that are born each year.  Mares will be approved by way of pedigree or performance or past production (or a combo of any or all three).  He will be enrolled or nominated to a variety of programs....starting with the NRHA Sire and Dam program and going on to things like the APHA Breeders Trust and the NRCHA Select Sires.  These programs will make his foals, not just well bred and colorful, but eligible for competition at the highest levels in the country and if they do well, for big dollar payouts for their owners.
